Prince William and Princess Kate shared a touching photograph of Queen Camilla on their social media accounts, accompanied by the message: “Wishing Her Majesty a very Happy Birthday!”
The beautiful portrait, taken by Princess Kate in 2022, was shot in the gardens of Ray Mill House, Queen Camilla’s rural retreat in Lacock, Wiltshire. Kate’s photo later won “Cover of the Year” at the PPA Awards after it graced the front of a special royal edition of Country Life.
The image captures a smiling Queen Camilla sitting on a bench in her blooming garden, holding a trug filled with pelargoniums. For the photoshoot, she wore a charming blue and white floral dress paired with a powder blue cardigan.
Prince William and Kate weren’t the only royals to publicly wish Her Majesty a happy birthday; messages were also shared by the Royal Family and on King Charles and Camilla’s official Instagram account.
Alongside a photograph of Camilla, the caption read: “[Cake emoji] Wishing Her Majesty The Queen a very Happy Birthday today!”
The Palace also shared a video clip of a group of children singing to Camilla, writing alongside the footage: “[Balloon emoji] Birthday celebrations started early in Guernsey yesterday…”
The birthday celebrations followed a busy week of engagements for Queen Camilla, including her surprise visit to Wimbledon last Wednesday and her joint trip to Jersey and Guernsey with King Charles at the beginning of the week.
The royal couple last visited the Channel Islands during the Diamond Jubilee year in 2012. This time, the Queen was seen wearing a bandage around her right foot, having suffered a slight ankle sprain on Monday.
Despite her injury, the Queen remained stylish, using her umbrella for support as she walked alongside her husband. Camilla’s birthday coincides with the State Opening of Parliament.
