Subtle Detail In Prince George’s Birthday Portrait That Many Fans Overlooked

A new photo of Prince George, taken by his mother, the Princess of Wales, was shared on Monday to mark his 11th birthday.

However, some royal fans may have overlooked a subtle detail in the black-and-white image posted on William and Kate’s official Instagram account.

The photo that appeared on their main feed was a slightly cropped version of the original, which omitted George’s hands.

The complete image, showing George wearing a friendship bracelet on his left wrist, was shared on their Instagram Stories. Kensington Palace has not disclosed who gifted the bracelet.

The photograph, captured by Kate in Windsor earlier this month, features George smiling at the camera while sitting on a stone bench, dressed smartly in a suit.

The caption read: “Wishing Prince George a very happy 11th birthday today!”

In keeping with the new approach established for Princess Charlotte’s ninth birthday in May and Prince Louis’ sixth birthday in April, William and Kate chose to share the image directly on social media on George’s special day, rather than under embargo as was previously customary.
