Princess Anne commenced her “gradual return” to duties on Friday with a visit to the Riding for the Disabled Association’s Championships at Hartpury University and Hartpury College.
This marks her first public appearance since being hospitalized in June following an incident at her Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire, resulting in “minor injuries” including a concussion.
The rare message from Prince William and Princess Kate comes shortly after Kensington Palace announced Kate’s upcoming appearance at the Wimbledon men’s final on Sunday, where she will present the winner’s trophy.
This event will be Kate’s first public outing since attending the King’s birthday parade, or Trooping the Colour, on June 15. Her appearance alongside her children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—was her first since her cancer diagnosis was disclosed in March.
Following the incident, Princess Anne was admitted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol on June 24.
During her hospital stay, Buckingham Palace released a statement indicating that “The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery.”
