The Danish royals have returned to their beloved Château de Cayx in France, having previously been based in Washington D.C. with their children, Count Henrik, 15, and Countess Athena, 12.
In the photo, Henrik and Athena are seen in the gardens of their southern French estate alongside their half-brothers, Count Nikolai, 24, and Count Felix, who celebrated his 22nd birthday on July 22. Nikolai and Felix are from Joachim’s previous marriage to Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg.
The group, dressed in smart-casual attire, is also accompanied by their Bichon Frise, Cerise. The picturesque backdrop features the rolling countryside and vineyards of the royal estate, known for producing wine for centuries.
The accompanying caption read: “His Excellency Count Felix has a birthday and is turning 22 today. The Count celebrates his birthday at Château de Cayx in France with his family.”
Prince Joachim, 55, has been serving as the defense industry attaché at the Danish Embassy in Washington D.C. since last September.
Meanwhile, his eldest sons are pursuing their own professional paths. Count Nikolai, who has achieved success in modeling, also completed a Master of Science in Merchandising from Copenhagen Business School in June.
Felix, who previously attended the Royal Danish Military Academy, is now working as a model for the luxury jeweler Georg Jensen. Both Henrik and Athena are continuing their education in Washington D.C. after the family relocated from Paris last summer.
