Niger State: Police Arrest Man For Allegedly Killing His Friend To Death Over Phone

The Niger State Police Command apprehended Mohammed Isah for reportedly murdering his friend, Nurudeen Nuhu, following a dispute over a mobile phone.

According to reports, Isah allegedly stabbed Nurudeen in the abdomen with a knife during a confrontation in the abattoir area of Kwata Tayi village, located in the suburbs of Minna, on the morning of Saturday, June 29, 2024.

Nurudeen collapsed immediately and was quickly rushed to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

SP Wasiu Abiodun, the spokesperson for the command, confirmed the incident to journalists.

“It was reported at GRA Division that there was a fight between one Mohammed Isah of Angwan-Biri and Nurudeen Nuhu of Angwan-Daji at Abattoir area, Kwata Tayi village over a handset issue,” the PPRO said.

“During the fight, Mohammed Isah allegedly stabbed Nurudeen with a knife in the stomach. Police operatives attached to the Division moved to the scene and rushed the victim to the Gen. Hospital where he gave up the ghost and was confirmed dead

“Mohammed Isah was arrested and a preliminary investigation is ongoing. He will soon be transferred to SCID for further investigation and prosecution.”
