Bigi Jackson made a rare public appearance in Los Angeles over the weekend, stepping out to run errands at Target. The 22-year-old, formerly known as Blanket, was seen purchasing a Minecraft game, hand sanitizer, toothpaste, and Kleenex tissues.
Dressed casually in shorts and a t-shirt, he was notably taller than the checkout clerk as he completed his transaction.
Bigi drove away from the store in his purple Tesla, marking a solo outing amid ongoing legal issues related to his father Michael Jackson’s estate. Currently, Bigi and his siblings, Prince and Paris, are facing delays in their trust fund payments due to unresolved tax issues.
In May, it was reported that the IRS had ordered the estate to halt payments to the trust fund beneficiaries until the $700 million in back taxes is addressed.
At the time, a statement from the estate read: “In annual reports provided to the probate court, which are publicly available, anyone can see that the Estate provides Michael’s mother and children with very substantial amounts of money to support them. The Estate has a very cooperative relationship with Michael’s children and whenever they need anything, the Estate works with them to ensure that they are very well taken care of, just as Michael would have wanted.”
Despite their father’s efforts to keep them out of the public eye, Michael Jackson’s children have always attracted attention. Since his tragic death in June 2009, they’ve been thrust into the spotlight but have each pursued their own careers.
Prince holds a business administration degree and is a motorcycle enthusiast with a popular YouTube channel. He also co-founded the charity Heal Los Angeles, which provided meals during the pandemic. Paris has made significant strides in fashion and music as a model, actress, and singer.
Bigi has kept a lower profile, working as an environmental activist, producer, and director. Despite their busy lives, the siblings remain very close and cherish their time together.
Prince said: “Any moment that I get to spend with my siblings now, especially as we’re getting older and our own lives are starting to blossom and grow, every moment that I get with them, any little family dinner, any family outing, is really a special moment. I would like to think that he [their dad] would be very proud, because I think this was one of his main goals, was not only to spread his message of positivity and happiness but to see it enacted in his kids.”
