Suraj Oyewale, known as Sir Jarus, has been arrested for alleged domestic violence after admitting to beating his wife of 14 years.
He claimed she tried to stop him from exercising his “Islamic right to pick a second wife.”
In a now-deleted tweet on the micro-blogging site X, the businessman accused his wife of engaging in fetish practices and provocative behavior, which he said led to a physical altercation between them.
The Lagos State Domestic and S*xual Violence Agency (DSVA) confirmed the arrest in a statement on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, and stated that an investigation is underway.
