Katie Holmes is about to become an empty nester as her daughter Suri prepares to leave home in the coming weeks.
The actress surprised fans by introducing a new family member—a ragdoll cat named Eleanor. On Instagram, Katie, 45, shared a carousel of photos showing her looking fresh-faced in a striped shirt, lying on the floor of her home with her new furry friend.
This new addition to the family comes just before Suri, 18, reaches a significant milestone as she embarks on a new chapter of her life.
After graduating from LaGuardia High School in June, it was revealed in a TikTok that Suri will be leaving New York to attend Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Suri has starred in several school productions, and it’s believed she will study at the School of Design, which offers a range of creative subjects.
Katie, a proud mom, has shared numerous photos from Suri’s graduation, which made headlines when it was noted that Suri had chosen to use her mother’s middle name, ‘Noelle,’ instead of her father’s last name.
Katie and Suri moved to New York in 2012 following Katie’s separation from Tom Cruise. Before the split, the mother-daughter duo divided their time between New York and Los Angeles, eventually settling on the East Coast.
For her graduation, Suri looked radiant in a white summer dress under her red robe, with fans commenting on her resemblance to her A-list mother.
