A Kano State High Court has issued an order prohibiting Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero from continuing to hold himself out as the Emir of Kano.
Delivered by Justice Amina Aliyu on Monday, July 15, the ruling also prohibits four other deposed emirs from presenting themselves as the Emirs of Bichi, Rano, Karaye, and Gaya.
Furthermore, the court has mandated that the five deposed emirs must return all movable and immovable properties belonging to the Kano state government.
Previously, Justice Aliyu adjourned the matter on July 4 to rule on several applications, including an extension of time, a notice of preliminary objection, a joinder application, and an application for the judge to recuse herself.
The new ruling date is set for July 18.
