Twelve people have died, and over 50 others have been hospitalized due to an outbreak of an unidentified disease in the Chessi community of the Kulani District in Balanga Local Government Area, Gombe State, as reported by Daily Trust.

Dr. Israel James and Yakubu Maina informed the press that the illness is not cholera, and they have collected blood and water samples to identify it.

Over 30 patients are currently bedridden, experiencing symptoms such as severe headaches, high fever, jaundice, and stomach pain.

The doctors advised the community to report any suspicious symptoms to the health center established at Chessi Primary School.

Patients, including Habiba Salisu, Aisha Mohammed, and Mohammed Sulaiman, expressed their gratitude to Hon. Musa Buba for providing essential drugs and supplies.
