One of President Biden’s close supporters and a person whose name had been floated as a possible replacement California Governor Gavin Newsom reacted to the president’s bombshell announcement on X.
‘President Biden has been an extraordinary, history-making president — a leader who has fought hard for working people and delivered astonishing results for all Americans,’ Newsom wrote.
‘He will go down in history as one of the most impactful and selfless presidents. Thank you,@JoeBiden.’
He did not make any indication of what he believes needs to happen next.
