Adamawa State: Court Remands Secondary School Student For Allegedly S*xually Assaulting Mentally Challenged Woman 3 Times

Idris Alex Emeka, a student of Capital Government Day Secondary School in Yola, Adamawa State, has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly assaulting a mentally challenged woman on three occasions.

The student pleaded guilty during his arraignment at Chief Magistrate Court 2 in Yola, where he faced charges of assault.

Presiding Judge Magistrate Musa Alhaji Adamu ordered the defendant remanded after his guilty plea, which violates Section 260 of the Penal Code Law.

According to the prosecution’s First Information Report presented in court, the defendant was caught engaging in s*xual activity with the mentally challenged woman on June 26, 2024.

Inspector Galeon Nimrod, representing the state police command, informed the court that Habu Jibrilla reported the incident at Karewa Police Station.

Jibrilla, from the State Low-cost area, stated that he witnessed the defendant sexually assaulting the victim on the street at 6:40 am and subsequently handed him over to the police.
