Fans were left disgusted by Ronald Koeman’s distasteful behavior on the bench during Holland’s Euro 2024 opener.
The camera cut to the Dutch coach on the touchline as his team faced Poland, capturing the moment Koeman rubbed his nose before wiping his hand.
He then inserted a finger into his nose and subsequently into his mouth, much to the revulsion of fans.
One commented, “Why did he eat it like it was a tasty snackðŸ˜.” Another added, “Bro got caught lacking in front of millions of people ðŸ˜.” A third wrote, “Disgusting 🤮,” while another remarked, “That’s wild 😂.”
Joachim Low infamously made headlines for similar behavior when managing Germany, and former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri was also caught in the act during a conversation with Jose Mourinho on the touchline.
Despite the incident, Koeman led Holland to a comeback victory, beating Poland 2-1. Substitute Wout Weghorst scored a late winner after Liverpool star Cody Gakpo’s deflected effort canceled out Adam Buska’s opener. Dutch goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen made a crucial last-minute save to secure the win.
