The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have had a busy few weeks following their trip to Nigeria and Prince Harry’s brief stop in London.
While royal watchers are eagerly anticipating the Duke of Westminster’s big day in Chester on June 7, it appears Prince Harry and Meghan will stay home.
Instead, they will be celebrating their daughter Princess Lilibet’s third birthday on June 4, likely pulling out all the stops for the occasion.
The royal youngster lives in Montecito, California, with her parents and older brother, Prince Archie, and it’s expected that the close-knit family will throw a fun party for little Lilibet in their beautiful mansion.
During their recent tour of Nigeria, the Duke and Duchess shared rare details about their two children. When visiting a local school supported by their Archewell Foundation, Harry asked some students, “Is singing and dancing your favorite class?” Meghan added, “That’s Lili’s favorite class. Maybe it’s all the jumping around.”
She also shared a sweet moment with her daughter: “Interestingly, our daughter Lili, who’s much tinier than you guys and about to turn three, looked at me and saw the reflection in my eyes. She said, ‘Mama, I see me in you.’ She was speaking literally, but I held onto those words in a different way, thinking, yes, I see me in you, and you see me in you. As I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well.”
Lilibet’s birthday comes just days before the Duke of Westminster’s wedding. Hugh is close to both Prince William and Prince Harry, serving as godfather to Prince George and Prince Archie.
However, it is believed that only the Prince of Wales will attend, acting as an usher at the wedding.
The Grosvenor family has been present at many royal events, including William and Kate’s wedding in 2011 and Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018. Hugh also attended Prince George’s christening at the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace as one of his godparents.
Hugh became the Duke of Westminster at the age of 25 and was ranked 11th on the 2023 Sunday Times Rich List with an estimated fortune of £9.9 billion after inheriting the Grosvenor estate.
