In Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State, a middle-aged man known as Eric and his unidentified girlfriend were discovered dead in their room.
Their bodies were found over the weekend in Eric’s apartment situated in the Ayeyemi area of Ondo city. Sources from the vicinity suggested that the couple was discovered in a locked sexual position.
The cause of their demise remains uncertain. However, neighbors and locals speculated that the couple might have inadvertently electrocuted themselves.
They proposed that the pair might have plugged a phone into a socket on the bed while using a generator, and it’s possible that the woman’s chain contacted the socket, leading to electrocution.
A resident named Ayo reported that Eric’s relatives found the bodies after he failed to answer his phone. Upon arrival at his residence, they observed the bodies through a window, prompting them to forcibly enter the house.
SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, a spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, confirmed the incident to Channels TV via telephone conversation. She revealed that the deceased had been in a relationship for approximately two years, and both families were aware of their union.
The bodies have been removed and placed in the morgue of a nearby hospital.
