A private memorial service was conducted for the late Thomas Kingston, husband of Lady Gabriella Kingston, who tragically passed away in February.
The service took place on Saturday morning at St Mary Abbots Church in Kensington. Close friends, family members, and some members of the royal family attended the intimate gathering to honor the memory of the late financier.
A spokesperson for the Kingston family stated: “Lady Gabriella and the Kingston family have been deeply touched by the outpouring of love, kindness and support they have received over the past difficult months. They were grateful today for the chance to celebrate – and give thanks for – the life of a wonderful man, among so many of those who knew and loved him too.”
Following the passing of her husband on February 25, 2024, Lady Gabriella, 43, has begun to reemerge into public life. She quietly attended Trooping the Colour last Saturday, a gesture extended to her by King Charles following Thomas’s death. While at Buckingham Palace, Lady Gabriella opted to remain out of the spotlight and watched the RAF flypast from indoors.
On Tuesday, she joined fellow members of the royal family at Royal Ascot, dressed elegantly in a pink and purple floral-themed shirt dress, complemented by gold and pearl drop earrings. Lady Gabriella rode alongside Princess Anne in a carriage and received a warm embrace from Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindall, upon arriving at the enclosure.
Thomas’s funeral took place on March 12, with Prince William and other members of the royal family in attendance to honor the 45-year-old. Among the guests were the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra, alongside Thomas’s family and close friends, totaling approximately 140 people.
The service, conducted by the Sub-Dean of the Chapel Royal, Reverend Canon Paul Wright, included a sermon by the former Bishop of London, the Right Reverend Richard Chartres. Following the one-hour service, Thomas’s remains were privately cremated, and details of his final resting place have not been disclosed.
