Zara Tindall Participates In An Interview With Her Three Children

Zara Tindall received cheers from her husband, Mike Tindall, and their three adorable children as she participated in the Badminton Horse Trials over the weekend.

Mia, aged ten, Lena, aged five, and three-year-old Lucas accompanied their mother for an interview after her competition. Zara, who will turn 43 on May 15, was still attired in her riding gear and helmet while holding Lucas on her hip.

The young toddler, dressed in a blue polo shirt, printed shorts, and a Spiderman cap, playfully adjusted the strap of his mother’s helmet before snuggling briefly into her shoulder.

Meanwhile, Lena, appearing shy, stood close to her mother’s side, wearing a floral dress and a pastel-colored cap, while Zara gently stroked her ponytail.

Mia, the elder sister, kept a watchful eye on her younger siblings as equestrian Zara discussed her showjumping performance on her horse, Class Affair, during the five-day event on Badminton Horse Trials’ Instagram page.

“It was good actually. I had one down disappointing but he [Class Affair] actually jumped mega because he did feel tired this morning. I think it’s the first time ever,” she said.

“I probably should have let go early, I’m sure my father will tell me what I did wrong but it’s so nice to be back in there. I just want to thank my owner and my team, who did a mega job yesterday after a hard day’s work and they worked so hard, and we can’t do it without any of them so thank you.”

Equestrian Genes

Zara has followed in her parents’ footsteps by pursuing an equestrian career. Her mother, the Princess Royal, made history as the first member of the British royal family to compete in the Olympics, participating in the 1976 Games in Montreal.

Meanwhile, Zara’s father, Captain Mark Phillips, achieved Olympic gold and secured victory four times at the Badminton Horse Trials.

Zara herself holds an Olympic silver medal, earned as part of Team GB’s eventing team at the 2012 Games in London. Additionally, she clinched the Eventing World Championship in Aachen in 2006 and was named BBC Sports Personality of the Year in the same year by public vote.

Since marrying rugby star Mike Tindall, a World Cup winner, in 2011, the couple has been busy raising their three children, Mia, Lena, and Lucas. Zara discussed the balancing act between her career and parenting during a conversation with Di Stewart on the IMG Golf’s Opinion Matters podcast in 2023.

She said: “I think there’s a lot of juggling going on, I think trying to fit everything in can be a real struggle, I don’t think it’s just me but what you do find hard as a mother with kids [is]trying to make sure that you spend the right amount of time and quality time with the kids as well as have a career and fit everything in around it is something that you think about every day.”
