At the 2024 Met Gala, a “mystery woman” captured attention in a butterfly-adorned dress, igniting a viral sensation.
She graced the event in a custom Iris Van Herpen gown that flawlessly adhered to the evening’s theme: The Garden of Time.
Following her appearance on the star-studded red carpet, social media platforms buzzed with inquiries about her identity, as her face was unfamiliar to many.
Identified subsequently as Mona Patel, a businesswoman from Vadodara, Gujarat, she dazzled in a dress featuring butterfly embellishments on her arms, complete with mechanically moving wings.
Styled by Law Roach, renowned as the longtime stylist of Zendaya, Patel’s striking ensemble unsurprisingly turned heads.
Having relocated to the US in 2003, Patel has founded multiple companies, including HauteX Ventures and radXai.
Speaking to Vogue India earlier this year, she said: “I wanted my debut look to be something that celebrates my heritage and also combines my love couture, and when I heard of the theme, Iris Van Herpen seemed like the obvious choice.”
