Queen Mary Appears Stunning In An Ethereal Lavender Gown, Complemented By Queen Margrethe's Cherished Tiara

Queen Mary made a dazzling entrance in one of Queen Margrethe’s cherished tiaras as she graced a gala dinner during her and King Frederik’s state visit to Norway on Tuesday night.

The Danish queen, aged 52, adorned herself with the Pearl Poire tiara, closely associated with her mother-in-law, aged 84, who stepped down from the throne in January.

This diamond and pearl headpiece was originally gifted by King Frederich Wilhelm III of Prussia to his daughter, Princess Louise, upon her marriage to Prince Frederick of the Netherlands in 1825.

Alongside the tiara, Mary also adorned herself with a matching brooch, which she affixed to her lovely lavender gown, tailored by her trusted dressmaker, Birgit Hallstein.

According to Billed Bladet, the dress was a modified version of one worn by Mary, then Crown Princess, to Prince Carl Philip of Sweden’s wedding to Sofia Hellqvist nine years ago.

The A-line gown seemed to have undergone alterations, with added sheer sleeves and a delicate organza overlay. Mary proudly displayed her royal order – the Grand Cross of St Olav – and introduced another royal touch by wearing the Khedive of Egypt Necklace and its coordinating earrings.

Her brunette locks were elegantly styled into a sleek low bun, complemented by shimmery smoky eye makeup and rose pink lipstick. Adding to her ensemble were two diamond tennis bracelets, a bangle, and an embellished clutch bag.
