Prince Harry Turned Down An Offer From His Father, King Charles, To Stay In A Royal Residence

According to a recent report from The Sunday Times, Prince Harry declined an offer from King Charles to stay in a royal residence this week.

Royal Editor Roya Nikkhah stated that the Duke of Sussex, who returned to the UK to attend a Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, chose to stay in a hotel instead.

Despite being surrounded by 1000 guests at the service in London on Wednesday, Prince Harry’s family from his father’s side was notably absent.

Following his brief visit to the UK, Prince Harry reunited with his wife, Meghan Markle, as they embarked on a three-day visit to Nigeria.

The couple decided to leave their two young children, Prince Archie, who recently turned five, and Princess Lilibet, who will turn three in June, at home in Montecito, California.

Upon their arrival in Nigeria on Friday, Harry and Meghan were warmly welcomed by Chief of Defense Staff Christopher Musa. Their packed itinerary included a visit to Lightway Academy in Abuja and a training session for the charity organization Nigeria: Unconquered.

On Saturday, Meghan proudly co-hosted an event focused on Women in Leadership with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the director-general of the World Trade Organization.

For Sunday, the final day of their visit, Meghan and Harry are expected to participate in a basketball camp with Giants of Africa, attend a cultural reception, and join a polo fundraiser for Nigeria: Unconquered.

Significantly, this three-day trip marks Meghan and Harry’s first visit to Nigeria as a couple. The country holds special significance for both of them, with Meghan having spent time with the Nigerian team at the Invictus Games last year and being honored with her own Nigerian name, Amira Ngozi Lolo.

While “Amira” translates as warrior princess from a legend, “Ngozi” means blessed and “Lolo” symbolises royal wife.
