Spring has arrived, marking the start of a splendid showcase at the Chelsea Flower Show. Opening on Monday, May 20, the inaugural day of this annual event welcomed King Charles and Queen Camilla to the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London.

Upon arrival, they were warmly greeted by the President of the Royal Horticultural Society, Keith Weed, and spent the day under the sun, admiring the magnificent and innovative gardens on display.

Accompanying King Charles and Queen Camilla were The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, as well as Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. King Charles engaged in lively conversation with TV presenter and gardening expert, Alan Titchmarsh.

Meanwhile, Queen Camilla received a guided tour of the Bridgerton Garden, inspired by the character Penelope Featherington, which symbolizes her transformation from a wallflower to embracing her true self, according to the official RHS website.

Her Majesty was particularly pleased to see wicker sculptures depicting her beloved Jack Russells, Bluebell and Beth, crafted by weaver Emma Stothard, making their debut at the Highgrove Gardens Shop.

King Charles, in high spirits, explored the gardens and was recently appointed as the next Patron of the Royal Horticultural Society.

The royal couple also took time to pose with students from Sulivan Primary School as they visited the No Adults Allowed Garden, which the children had contributed to designing.
