There was drama at the end of the world No. 1’s match with Corentin Moutet at the Italian Open, as he was struck on the head by a bottle that came from the stands.
Novak Djokovic fell to the floor and remained on the ground for a short while while being attended to before being escorted away.

How it Happened
The water bottle hit him as he stopped to sign autographs at the Italian Open after he wrapped up a quickfire victory over Corentin Moutet to kick off his campaign in the Italian capital.

It was gathered that the bottle accidentally fell out of a man’s backpack in an attempt to get the world No. 1’s autograph, per AP.

Djokovic suffered a bump on his head and was subsequently evaluated by doctors.
The tournament’s organisers subsequently released a statement on X/Twitter, stating that ‘his condition is not a cause for concern.’
