King Charles is in the process of hiring a new security officer for his Scottish residence, Holyroodhouse.
The monarch holds a deep fondness for this Edinburgh abode and traditionally stays there annually from late June to early July. A detailed job description has been posted on the official website for the royal household, outlining the responsibilities of the role.
According to the website, the position entails being a friendly presence for visitors, conducting patrols, ensuring a secure environment, inspecting fire equipment, and being prepared to respond promptly in case of emergencies, among other duties. While specific salary details for roles within the royal household are not always disclosed, the salary for this position is estimated to be in the £26,000 per year range.
