Garcelle Beauvais has had an amazing career as an actress. From starring in hit series “The real housewives of Beverly Hills” to playing a role in the popular crime drama “NYPD blue“, it’s no wonder she’s received nominations for prestigious awards like the NAACP and the People’s Choice Awards.
However, after her marriage ended due to her husband’s infidelity, the Haitian-American actress and TV personality decided to focus on her boys: Oliver, Jaid, and Jax.
“My focus this time is on my kids and healing the pain” she told People after the divorce.
“To this day, my happiest moments are when all three of my boys are with me hanging out at home. Even though they are a generation apart, they love each other so much,” – Garcelle wrote on a blog for People magazine in 2012.
Oliver, Jaid, and Jax truly are the peak of her accomplishments, and here’s everything you need to know about them.
1. Oliver Saunders
Oliver Saunders is the first son of Garcelle Beauvais. He was born in the state of New York in 1991, but had to move to Los Angeles so his mom could further her acting career.
According to Beauvais, Oliver was a calm and easy going child, which made it easy for her to carry him almost everywhere: Photoshoots, Planes, studios, Oliver was the best baby.
Oliver was a cast member in different TV shows including the Jamie Foxx show where he appeared alongside his mom. He loved acting but music was always his passion, so much that he was already into rapping at the tender age of 10.
He has performed with artists like Dom Kennedy, Talib Kweli, and many others.
Oliver Saunders has had his down moments though. The most notable being his struggle with substance abuse.
“For years I had been trying to fight it. I had gone to rehab, I had talked to people, therapists, all type of stuff like that,”
“Even though I told myself when I felt like I was ready to stop, and I wanted to stop I could, but it was easier said than done. Then I swear, I swear, it was God, and my wife and my son, and it was just one day, none of that stuff mattered.” He told Confessional Magazine.
Their marriage unfortunately hit a snag in September 2022 when his wife, Samantha, accused him of having an affair with Raquel Leviss while working on Vanderpump à Paris in Las Vegas.
Despite the marriage ending on a sour note, Oliver is still a very involved and hands-on father with his child, regularly sharing photos of them hanging out together on instagram. He also loves spending quality time with his younger brothers and mother.
2. Jax Joseph Nilon
Jax Joseph Nilon, alongside his twin brother Jaid Thomas Nilon, was born on October 18, 2007 in Los Angeles. Due to Garcelle’s age at the time, she referred to the birth as a miracle.
“I learned the hard way that trying to have babies when you’re older is a whole different ball game. It took blood, sweat (both the good and bad kind!), lots of tears, and most importantly, fertility treatments. But I finally got pregnant. It was truly a miracle,”
Despite Jax and his brothers being fraternal twins, their personalities have always been worlds apart, each reflecting that of their parents.
“…….. From day one, they were different. Jax came out screaming while Jaid came out looking both serious and curious about the world around him,” Their mother wrote. She also explained how much they always looked after each other, even when they were still babies.
“I would take Jax down after he woke up and he would say “don’t leave my brother! don’t leave my brother!”
Jax always had a lot of energy as a kid. So much that his mom had to keep him busy with swimming lessons, soccer, and karate lessons.
Growing up Jax has come to love music, traveling, volleyball, and spending time with his family and friends.
3. Jaid Thomas Nilon
Jaid Thomas Nilon was born on the same day as his twin brother (obviously), only a minute later.
The twins shared similar childhood experiences and upbringing. Their mother recalled how they would both pack a lot of toys with them whenever they had to travel to see their dad, who was also very much involved in their childhood.
Jaid loves basketball and currently plays for Sierra Canyon and regularly shares pictures of himself on the court. According to his Instagram bio, he’s 6’3″.
Thomas is no stranger to the spotlight and has been attending lots of high-profile events from movie premieres to award shows, right from a very young age. The twins made a debut at the launch of their mom’s children’s jewelry line on November 15, 2008 where they wore matching T-shirts. Their most recent appearance was at MTV movie and TV awards in June 2022 where they posed on the carpet for photos with their mom.
