Patricia Muckian, 81, was allegedly attacked with an axe at a tea-party to celebrate her sister-in-law’s 75th birthday has died from her horrific injuries.Â
What Happened?
The pensioner suffered severe head trauma after she was attacked in her home in the Glenwood estate in Ireland, on May 3.Â
She, her sister-in-law Mairead and her niece Maria, both of whom were also injured, were having tea and cake when the attack took place.Â
She Didn’t Survive it
Muckian reportedly passed away in Beaumont Hospital in Dublin on the afternoon of Friday, May 3, where she was transferred to in a critical condition after initially being taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, per Sunday World.Â
47-year-old Nicholas Muckian, of nearby Glenwood, appeared before Dundalk District Court in relation to the incident, having been charged with three counts of assault causing harm at the same location.

The Muckian family have reportedly lived in the area for nearly 50 years, and are considered pillars of the community.Â
One neighbour said of the three injured women: ‘Mairead is a lovely woman. And her sister-in-law, the lady who was badly injured, would often come up there visiting her.
‘Mairead is always out doing her garden and she’d always have a hello for everyone.
‘Her daughter Maria is lovely too and she’d often be up for a visit.’
