A woman has recounted how her former partner pursued her with a machete and brutally stomped on her head, causing such force that her eyes nearly popped out.
Courageous mother-of-three Jodie Beck, residing in West Yorkshire, shared harrowing images displaying the severe injuries inflicted by her ex-boyfriend.
John Paul Wilkinson, 26, subjected Jodie to a vicious assault, repeatedly stomping on her head with such ferocity that her eyes seemed on the verge of protruding from their sockets.
He also menaced her with a machete, threatening her with the chilling declaration, “you’re going to die now, love.” He later pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm without intent and possession of a bladed weapon.
Following the appalling attack, Jodie was left in a state of shock upon learning that her assailant received a mere three-month sentence.
Despite the ordeal, Jodie has courageously shared her story in hopes of aiding others ensnared in abusive relationships. She urges any victims to seek assistance and leave before it’s too late.
The 32-year-old said: “I thought John Paul was going to kill me that day. I’m so lucky to have survived.”
In the initial phase of their relationship, Jodie noted his supportive demeanor, even throughout her pregnancy.
However, his conduct gradually deteriorated over time, marked by frequent late nights and an increase in verbal insults.
Jodie said: “He’d post videos online of him dancing with girls in nightclubs. Sometimes he wouldn’t come home for an entire weekend.”
