Buckingham Palace confirmed on Tuesday that the King has bestowed new roles upon four members of the royal family, yet the Duke of Sussex is notably absent from the recipients.
This omission is most likely due to Prince Harry’s decision to step back from his public duties alongside his wife, Meghan, in 2020.
Although they retain their royal titles, the couple no longer utilize their HRH styles, but they still retain them, and Prince Harry remains fifth in line to the throne.
Additionally, he relinquished his honorary military titles, but retains his KCVO star, which symbolizes the Royal Victorian Order. This honor was bestowed upon him by the late Queen Elizabeth II in 2015 for his “services to the sovereign.”
Prince Harry proudly wore his medals at King Charles’ coronation in May 2023, including the Afghanistan Operational Service Medal to commemorate his military service, as well as the Golden, Diamond, and Platinum Jubilee medals.
He was also awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2023, although he has not been publicly photographed wearing it yet.
