Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have delighted in several enchanting family vacations alongside their children, four-year-old Prince Archie and two-year-old Princess Lilibet.
Harry has fond memories of family skiing excursions dating back to his early childhood, when he and his brother Prince William would join their mother, Princess Diana, and father, King Charles, on the slopes starting at the age of six.
Therefore, it’s hardly surprising that he and Meghan embarked on their children’s inaugural ski adventure earlier this year. From embracing the snowy peaks of the mountains to basking in the sunshine on a getaway to Costa Rica, it’s evident that the Sussexes know how to make the most of their time away and create cherished memories together.
Skiing
In February, the family of four ventured to Powder Mountain Ski Resort accompanied by Meghan’s close friends Heather Dorak and Kelly McKee Zajfen.
During the trip, the Duchess was captured in a radiant photo alongside her friends while skiing, with the expansive mountain vista serving as a stunning backdrop.
Sharing details about the family getaway, Heather revealed in the caption: “Wow, what a perfect trip!! My heart is so full. The kids crushed the slopes by day and the adults howled with laughter deep into the night. Truly lucky in love with our wonderful friends!”
In the holiday snapshot, the trio exuded glamour, with the Duchess sporting a snug black puffer jacket known as “The Super Puffer” from the stylish brand Aritzia, along with a coordinating woolly hat. Completing her look, she accessorized with her chic Blenders sunglasses.
Wyoming
Their ski excursion wasn’t the initial instance of the Sussexes vacationing with Heather and her family. Back in July 2022, the group marked July 4th together in Jackson Hole Valley, Wyoming.
The Duke and Duchess were photographed relishing the parade festivities with their children, though only Archie was visible in the pictures, cheerfully waving an American flag.
Costa Rica
Before their February ski excursion, the Sussexes embarked on a pre-Christmas family getaway to Costa Rica. Images acquired by CRHoy, a news outlet in the Central American nation, depicted Meghan cradling her daughter Lilibet, whose vibrant blonde ponytail took center stage in the adorable snapshot.
Although the little one’s face was concealed, the photo showcased her adorned in a white dress. Meanwhile, Meghan, the glamorous mother, looked resplendent in a chic black dress and sunhat.
Canada
Prior to the birth of his younger sister, Princess Lilibet, Archie and his parents commemorated his first Christmas in Canada. Throughout the holiday season in 2019, the Sussex trio relished hikes in Horth Hill Regional Park on Vancouver Island.
During their time away, Harry and Meghan celebrated the significant occasion with an endearing black-and-white photograph capturing the young Prince gazing at the camera, while his delighted parents laughed in the background against the backdrop of a beautifully adorned Christmas tree.
Meghan said of the trip: “Just to be able to take in the warmth that we experienced from the people, also just walk around and just see the beauty of Canada. To see Archie go ‘ahh’ when you walk by and just see how stunning it is, so it meant a lot to us.”
South Africa
Archie’s Canadian Christmas getaway wasn’t his inaugural journey with his parents. Back in September 2019, when he was just four months old, he accompanied his parents on their royal tour of South Africa.
During that period, the new parents couldn’t resist expressing their admiration for Archie, describing him as an exceptional baby.
“She was speaking about motherhood and the transition and said that Archie was a good traveller. She said the transition was quite smooth because he’s an easy baby and he was an easy traveller, Harry said he slept on his chest almost 11 hours (during the flight),” said Waseefa Majiet, a friend of Shaamiela and Ibrahim Samodien who hosted the Sussexes in their home.
