Pregnant girl, 17, her unborn child and 3 OTHERS are killed in hot police chase – got trapped in blazing car

A pregnant teenager was among people killed in a police chase when their getaway vehicle crashed into a highway barrier.

What Happened?

The driver Isaiah Miller, 20, sped away and led cops on a daring seven-mile chase, weaving in and out of traffic at high speed on a busy highway. 

The driver lost control of the vehicle and cross the highway before colluding with a barrier, causing the vehicle to burst into flames. 

The Scene Was Brutal

Miller was pronounced dead at the scene alongside passengers Ikeam Rogers, 20, and Kalyn Billips, 21.

Pregnant 17-year-old Tyjana Motley died in hospital, and efforts to save her unborn child through an emergency C-section were unsuccessful. 

Three others inside the vehicle were rushed to hospital, where they were listed as suffering non-life-threatening injuries.  

Why Police Chased Them?

The police chase was triggered after troopers patrolling a mall in Concord Township identified the vehicle as connected to recent thefts. 

State police said one person in the Ford taurus was ‘believed to be involved in a previous retail theft at the shopping center’, but did not specify which occupant it was.

How the Tragedy Happened

When a trooper approached the vehicle, reportedly three or four people outside the car jumped in before it sped away, with a total of seven people believed to be in the car. 

After initially evading cops, the vehicle was stopped a short time later after officers said it was found to have a tinted front windshield, expired inspection stickers and a Delaware temporary paper registration covered by a tinted license plate cover, per New York Times. 

Miller then attempted to evade custody again, racing away at a high rate of speed and leading police on a five-minute-long chase that ended in tragedy.
