According to reports, Sheriff Alabi, a fashion designer, was allegedly fatally stabbed during a confrontation in Aga-Olowo, located in the Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The incident occurred around 11 pm on Saturday during a tailoring graduation celebration in the area. Witnesses revealed that the altercation erupted between Alabi and three companions, identified as Gbenga Mufutau, Peter Gbesu, and Samuel Bolarinwa, amidst the festivity.
Despite attempts by others present to intervene and diffuse the situation, the dispute escalated into a violent brawl. It was reported that during the course of the altercation, Alabi was stabbed with a broken dish plate, resulting in severe injuries to his nose and upper lips.
Fellow attendees rushed him to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention, where he tragically passed away the following day. Upon inquiry, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed that law enforcement personnel, under the leadership of Adelakun Emmanuel in the Ewekoro Area, promptly apprehended all suspects, including the deceased’s friends involved in the altercation.
She said, “The deceased was a native of Kajola Village. He had gone to Aga-Olowo for a graduation party of tailors in the area. While the party was ongoing, an argument between the deceased led them into a violent scuffle.”
