81-year-old William Brock has been charged in the fatal shooting of an Uber driver, whom he reportedly thought was involved in an elaborate plot to scam him.
The man from Ohio shot Loletha Hall, 61, to death outside his home on March 25.
His defense argument is that the woman was working with someone who had demanded a ransom from him.

Brock told court how he had been getting contacted of late by scammers demanding thousands of dollars from him because some relative was in jail, much like a ransom/hostage call, which pissed Brock off.
Meanwhile, Loletha who was helpless was also being contacted by scammers who were pulling a fast one on her as well as she was ordered to go to Brock’s home and pick up money they said he’d have for her.
They both met and the deadly confrontation happened.

The dash cam video of Loletha records how she was running and shouting to be helped in attempt to get in her car to flee before Brock shot her.
Cops arrested Brock is now facing murder and kidnapping charges after his arrest.
Police believe he had no reason to shoot this woman since she did not pose immediate threat to him.
And hopefully police will ID and track down the scammers.
