A popular celebrity hairstylist was savagely attacked outside a gay nightclub in Los Angeles in what fear he was targeted for his race or sexuality in a brutal hate crime.
How He Was Attacked
Alberto Vasquez, 53, was beaten unconscious and left for dead as he left Heart Weho in the Rainbow District of West Hollywood at 8pm on Friday, April 5.
He was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning after a passer-by spotted him unconscious and bleeding in a car lot next to the nightclub.
He Spent Days in ICU
He was so bullied that he spent more than a week in an ICU, leaving doctors with no option than to remove part of his skull to relieve pressure on a swelling in his brain.
His family couldn’t reach him until after five days when they were able to track him down when a nurse at the hospital answered a call to his cell phone.
Now his family fear he will never fully recover.
