Chef Gordon Ramsay is furious and surprised at how squatters have taken over one of his pubs in Regents Park, London

What Really Happened?

The pub was temporarily closed whilst he was finalising a new multi-million pound lease to new partners, and it was during the handover period the gang of professional squatters somehow bypassed all the security and CCTV, and got themselves in.

The group have used kitchen appliances to barricade themselves inside the pub, and have glued the locks shut.

The Squatters Are Bragging

Pictures obtained by The Sun show the group of ‘six professional squatters’ sleeping inside the building, and they have even placed a sign on the door threatening legal action against anyone who tries to force them out.

The note on the pub’s door insists they are able to stay there as it is a ‘non-residential building.’

Gordon’s Efforts So Far

It’s thought that Gordon contacted the police last week, but so far they have been unable to remove squatters from the property.

Now

Why Police Can’t Do Anything

The Met Police was confirmed to say: ‘Police were made aware of squatters at a disused property in Parkway, Regent’s Park, NW1 on Wednesday, 10 April.

‘This is a civil matter and so police did not attend the property.’

Yesterday, one squatter was seen sleeping barefoot on a couch in the bar area while wearing a hat, coat and trousers.

Another slipper-clad occupier was scrolling his smartphone.

Scattered around were a pair of crutches, a Sainsbury’s bag for life, tobacco, plugs, empty water bottles and wine glasses — with a blue sleeping bag dumped on another sofa.

A cat climber and dog toy were also visible, while kitchen equipment was seen on the floor at the back of the venue.
