A seven-month-pregnant woman met her death from boyfriend and father of her unborn child as she was strangled in a suspected honour killing.
Saga Forsgren Elneborg, 20, was found strangled to death (possibly with a lamp cord) at home, per police.
Why He Killed Her
Prosecutors revealed that her boyfriend, Mohamedamin Abdirisek Ibrahim, 22, from Somalia, killed her in April last year as he was feeling ashamed of introducing the mother of his child to his Muslim family.
Ibrahim was finally charged to court for Saga’s murder a week ago, though he does not appear to have been charged with the murder of his unborn child.
Saga’s family are relieved that Ibrahim was finally charged.
‘It had been a ”long and painful wait” of over a year,’ the family said through their lawyer.
What Police Found at Crime Scene
Police released a 1,000 page arrest report containing pictures of the possible murder weapon, the lamp cord, and crime scene in the bedroom – where Saga’s body was found next to her bed, reportedly buried under a marble table top.

Indeed, prosecutors state that he grew up in a household that believed dating a ‘white’ woman is ‘not okay’ and that he ‘must date a woman of the same culture’ – and concealed the two year relationship from his mother because she would not accept it.
How He Deceived Her
Despite Saga’s refusal to have abortion he asked for, Ibrahim continued the relationship and planned for a future with Saga.
Ibrahim is due to go on trial for the murder on April 10, nearly a year after his girlfriend Saga was killed. The trial is expected to last 15 days.
He denies any wrongdoing and told police in an interrogation that he loved Saga and was still in disbelief over her death: ‘I have been in denial for nine months now.’
