Timothee Chalamet took home a whopping $8million for Wonka, as his growing star power has led to a recent ‘salary bump.’
Chalamet played the world-famous chocolatier Willy Wonka in the prequel film that premiered in December 2023 and raked in $625.9million at the worldwide box office.
EmmanuelsBlog learn that he beat out the likes of Tom Holland, Donald Glover, Ezra Miller and Ryan Gosling for the role that was previously played by Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp.
The actor, 28, earned critical acclaim for his ‘amazing’ portrayal as well as his singing and dancing abilities.
It earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Actor in a Musical or Comedy Film — though he lost out to The Holdovers’ Paul Giamatti.

His recent box office success will see him earning ‘paydays in the double digits for leading roles in studio films.’
‘We can count on one or two hands, in any age range, the people who are legitimate movie stars. Timothée is absolutely that,’ said Dune producer Mary Parent.
