Since Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have failed to reach a divorce settlement, the actress is requesting the judge to end the marriage ASAP and to intervene on who to keep the custody of their daughters via a court-ordered settlement.
The seemingly not ending legal row started in September 2023 when Sophie, 34, filed for divorce from the Game of Thrones star, 28, and since then, their battle over custody of daughters Willa, three, and Delphine, 17 months, have becoming national news.
The two tried mediation in a civil attempt to straighten out a property and child custody settlement but all to no avail.
What’s The Contention?
Sophie wanted to bring her kids to England with her, but Joe attempted to prevent this. As a result, Sophie accused him of illegal keeping the children in the U.S.
Efforts Made So Far
Later, the actress dropped her legal claim that invoked a child abduction law and has been attempting to resolve custody matters privately with Joe.
In October 2023, Joe and Sophie set up a temporary custody arrangement after the Game Of Thrones actress sued him over his efforts to prevent her from taking their children out of the US on an allegedly pre-planned trip to the UK.
The Agreement They Had Until January 2024
The court obtained by DailyMail then revealed that the custody arrangement grants each parent two weeks at a time with their daughters until January 2024 and allow the girls to travel back and forth between the US and UK.
They can also travel to anywhere in the US and the UK, meaning that Turner can bring the girls to England, which she claims will be their ‘forever home.’
However, it seems that these discussions have not been successful, and now, the actress has asked to ‘reactivate’ their divorce proceedings, which were on hold as the pair went to mediation, according to TMZ.
