The Princess of Wales has been recuperating from abdominal surgery for the past two months, yet her absence has stirred numerous speculations regarding her health condition.
Rumors intensified following Kensington Palace’s release of an altered photo of the royal with her three children on Mother’s Day, prompting Kate to issue an apology. The Sunday Times has now disclosed that in light of the public speculation surrounding her absence, the princess might address her health upon her anticipated return to royal duties, potentially around April 17.
The newspaper additionally notes that the Prince and Princess of Wales tend to be quite “open” when engaging with the public, suggesting that Kate might choose to discuss her health openly. Despite the controversy surrounding Kate’s Mother’s Day photo, the family intends to release a photo to mark Prince Louis’ sixth birthday on April 23.
However, it remains undecided whether the princess, who often captures images of her children for special occasions, will be the one behind the camera.
Since her surgery on January 16, Kate has been spotted only twice: once while being driven by her mother, Carole Middleton, and again with her husband following the uproar over her Mother’s Day photo.
Kensington Palace has rubbished rumours about the royal’s absence with a spokesperson for Kate, saying: “We were very clear from the outset that the Princess of Wales was out until after Easter and Kensington Palace would only be providing updates when something was significant.”
The Sunday Times report indicating Kate’s potential return on April 17 implies that the Princess of Wales may not be able to attend the traditional Easter Sunday service in Windsor, scheduled for March 31st this year. Earlier in the month, royal author Robert Jobson mentioned that although Kate was “recovering well,” she had not fully recuperated.
“From what I hear, Kate has got into a routine again and is functioning well, but she doesn’t want to rush things,” he told us. “I have spoken to people close to her and I think she is recovering well but is not quite a hundred per cent.”
Robert, who also made reference to King Charles’ cancer diagnosis and ongoing treatment, added: “The King was looking to make the royal family more focused on the main four and having two of the star people out of the picture makes that more difficult, so I’m sure she will be welcomed back with open arms when she’s well enough to return to royal duties.
“She must be looking forward to that, but she also feels lucky to be able to have this time with the children and to put her recovery first.”
