Clapham Common shooting: Gunmen SHOOT TWO in high street pub while a third is ‘run over’ as police hunt for two suspects

Police are hunting for two gunmen after three people were injured in a shooting at a south London pub this afternoon.

The Metropolitan Police said that a firearm, believed to be a shotgun, was discharged from a moped that they had been chasing near Clapham Common South Side.

At The Crime Scene

Emergency crews rushed to The Belle Vue pub in Clapham Common at around 5pm after two women suffered shotgun pellet injuries and a third female victim was run over by the moped before the suspects discarded the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

A large hole can be seen in the glass window of the pub, while a weapon and a black moped were also visible on the road. MailOnline understands that the incident is not terror related.

Detectives have closed off a significant stretch of Clapham High Street – a busy nightlife hub which revellers would have been getting ready to descend on tonight. Locals were also visibly irate that all buses through the major route have been cancelled.

As it is

Paramedics with the London Ambulance Service have taken the victims to hospital but none of the injuries are thought to be life-threatening.

Forensics continued to work this evening in and around The Belle Vue pub and are currently examining the discarded moped using torches.

The shooting comes amid a growing clamour for police to clampdown on crime in the capital, with Sadiq Khan accused of failing Londoners last month after it emerged that more than 1,000 people have been killed since he became mayor.

Henry Smith, who was in the Belle Vue pub with three friends at the time of the attack, said that two women were left bleeding after being shot whilst inside the pub.
