Trisha Goddard has revealed she feared she would have to tie the knot with her husband Allen ‘in a Zimmer frame’ after setting a wedding date just a month after undergoing vital hip surgery.

The Heartbreaking News

The veteran broadcaster, 66, revealed on Monday that her incurable cancer had returned after cells were found in her hip following a fall, and she is undergoing life-prolonging treatment.

Who is Trisha Goddard’s Husband?

Speaking to Hello! about her diagnosis, Trisha also shared her husband’s identity of the first time, having previously kept his name and face a secret on social media.

She also revealed intimate details about her wedding to Allen, after they tied the knot in August 2022.

Details About Their Wedding

The Dancing On Ice star admitted that after getting engaged in January of that year she was horrified by the prospect of getting married in a ‘Zimmer frame’.

The couple set a date for their big day just a month after her hip operation, and they were wed by a Rabbi in front of 70 guests at their local restaurant in Connecticut.

Donning a Victoria Beckham dress, Trisha used a decorated walking cane to make her way down the aisle, but kept her cancer a secret from a majority of those in attendance.

She said: ‘We said a few things to a few people and then thought ”we’re not doing that again”. Not because people are horrible, but they bring their own s**t to the rodeo.

‘They’ll cry or say ”is there anything I can do?” and then you don’t hear from them again.’

When She Began Her Treatment

A day after she and Allen were married, Trisha began radiation therapy for her cancer, instead of going on honeymoon.

After undergoing hip surgery, Trisha underwent daily radiation for three weeks and weekly chemotherapy for four and a half months as well as intense physiotherapy.

The star has continued to work on her TalkTV show throughout her treatment, and is having hormone therapy infustions every three weeks, along with regular scans and blood tests.

She is Feeling Some Weights

Trisha said that she was speaking out in order to remove the weight of the secret from her shoulders after learning the news 19-months ago.

Since sharing that her cancer has returned, Trisha has been flooded with messages of support from fans on social media.

Trisha previously revealed she nearly died following the fall in 2022, after which the cancer was discovered.

She went into shock after breaking her thigh bone and was relying on a walking frame and sticks following emergency surgery.

The TV host was previously diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, but recovered from the disease.
