Driver charged after allegedly striking, killing girl crossing street to BOARD school bus

ROAD ACCIDENT – An 8-year-old Georgia girl has died after she was hit by a car while trying to get on her school bus.

Statement From Police

According to WSB-TV 2, police say Adalynn Pierce of Henry County was trying to get on her school bus on Thursday when a driver allegedly passed the vehicle despite the fact that it had a stop sign.

It was previously reported that the Rock Spring Elementary school student was crossing the street at the time.

One Arrest has Been Made

Per WSB-TV 2, WJCL and 11Alive, police arrested 25-year-old Kaylee Andre, who is currently being held in the Henry County Jail.

She is charged with homicide by vehicle, failure to stop for a school bus loading and unloading and failure to exercise due care, according to multiple outlets. It’s unclear if she has retained an attorney or entered pleas.

Adalynn’s mother Ashley opened up to 11Alive about her daughter. The girl will be donating eight of her organs, according to the nonprofit organization Caring for a Cause.
