Photos of buildings DESTROYED in Ibadan explosion

OYO STATE – The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA South West Zonal Office, has shared photos showing the damaged building in the Ibadan explosion incident that occurred last night, January 16.

NEMA said that Improvised Explosives Devices IED are responsible for the explosion that rocked Adeyi Estate in Bodija Ibadan, Oyo State on Tuesday night.

Details of the Statement

The Southwest Zonal Office of the Agency stated that a distress alert for the explosion was received at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Bodija GRA behind Ace Mall Ibadan.

The zonal coordinator said mobilised response agencies were deployed to the scene of the explosion.

On arrival at the scene, it was observed by NEMA that it was a suspected explosion of an IED, which affected over 20 houses.

Casualty figures by the agency could not be ascertained. Search and rescue operations were still ongoing.
