IDAHO – A Washington man is facing murder charges in connection with the disappearance and presumed death of a missing Montana woman whose motorhome was allegedly found in his possession in Idaho, say authorities.

His Case

Chris Brandon Foiles, 42, of Spokane, Wash., was arrested Friday and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the presumed death of Megan Ashley Stedman, 34, of Bozeman, Montana, the Idaho Falls Police Department said in a release.

Stedman vanished on Dec. 15, 2023, the Bozeman Police Department said in a statement. She was last seen in the Bozeman/Livingston area.

It is unclear whether her body has been found.

Statement From Police

‘Bozeman Police Department detectives believe Megan is missing under suspicious circumstances and are concerned for Megan’s safety,’ the Bozeman Police Department said in the statement.

When She was Last Seen

A missing persons poster said she was ‘last thought to be with her estranged boyfriend, Chris Brandon Foiles.’

Stedman was known to drive a 1973 large, white Landau motorhome with a red stripe on the sides that had obvious damage to the rear driver’s side light, the poster said. It bore a Washington license plate, the poster said.

On Friday, nearly a month after Stedman was last seen, police in Idaho Falls, Idaho, responded to a call about a motorhome parked on Wardell Street that matched the description of Stedman’s motorhome, the Idaho Falls Police Department said in the statement.

How Police Found Evidences

Idaho Falls police officers located the motorhome on that street and ‘made contact with Chris Foiles who was detained at that time,’ Idaho Falls Police said in the statement.

The motorhome

Inside the motorhome, police said, investigators allegedly ‘found evidence to support arresting Foiles.’

He was then charged with first-degree murder.

He was booked into the Bonneville County Jail. Police did not state whether Stedman had died or how she died.
