Princess Of Wales Is Elegant In A Glittering Tiara And White Gown

Princess Kate looked effortlessly elegant as she sported a rarely seen century-old tiara at a state banquet Tuesday night.

The Princess of Wales, 41, opted for a sprawling white gown by Jenny Packham for the luxe dinner at Buckingham Palace, hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla.

The royal family welcomed the President and First Lady of South Korea, as Kate and her husband Prince William spoke to Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife Kim Keon Hee.

Also in attendance was K-pop sensation Blackpink, which consists of stars Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. Kate accessorized with a pair of earrings belonging to Queen Elizabeth, as well as her Family Order, and her GCVO sash and star.

But the star of the night was her Strathmore Rose Tiara — which belonged to Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, the Queen Mother, who received it as a gift from her parents in 1923.

The coronet is versatile and can be worn on top of the head or across the forehead as a beandeau.

Though the Princess opted to wear it on her head — marking the first time it’s been worn in over 100 years.

The piece, which was designed to resemble a garland of roses, was previously on display at a royal exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London in 2002.

The mother of three topped off her opulent look with a pair of dramatic opera-style gloves.

Princess Kate was joined by Queen Camilla, who paid tribute to her late mother-in-law Queen Elizabeth II by wearing her ruby and diamond Burmese tiara.

The late monarch’s tiara was made in the 1970s from gems that originated from the Nizam of Hyderabad tiara.

The headpiece was gifted to Her Late Majesty as a wedding gift.
