Katie Price‘s social worker has been sacked for getting ‘too close’ to her following concerns that she her professional boundary had become blurred, MailOnline can reveal.
Warm relationship was developing
It is understood that Lynne Rickwood was even considering taking a job as nanny to Katie’s youngest child, underlining the warm relationship that developed between the two women.
Social services are concerned
Social services bosses are believed to have raised concerns that this could be considered ‘unprofessional’ because social workers are supposed to maintain a healthy distance from their clients and not become embroiled in their personal lives.
Ms Rickwood, 45, from Brighton, was employed by West Sussex County Council’s family safeguarding team.
A source told MailOnline: ‘Lynne’s employment with West Sussex County Council was terminated last Thursday.
‘The local authority became aware that Lynne had been offered a position as nanny for Katie’s two youngest children and was considering whether to take it.
‘As a social worker, Lynne had an ethical responsibility to remain impartial and considering Katie’s job offer would have been a conflict of interest.’
The case is under review
The case will be independently reviewed by Social Work England (SWE), which regulates social workers.
A spokesman for West Sussex County Council said: ‘The council does not comment about individuals, their personal details or circumstances and are not in a position to confirm or deny any claims made.’
Katie is a mother to Harvey Price, 21, as well as Junior, 18, and Princess, 16, who she shares with former husband Peter Andre, and her youngest two Jett, ten, and Bunny, nine, from her marriage to her ex, Kieran Hayler.
In July, the former glamour model revealed on Instagram that Jett hadn’t attended school for almost a year, telling her 2.6million followers that he was being ‘home-schooled’.
On Thursday, Kieran, who divorced Katie in 2021, shared a quote on his Instagram profile that read: ‘The obvious signs one parent is alienating a child from the other parent is not only twisting the other parent’s good intentions, but bribing their children with gifts or lack of rules as well as allowing a child to make adult decisions.’
