When Foyle’s War star Honeysuckle Weeks split up with her husband, the aristocratic hypnotherapist Lorne Stormonth Darling posted a picture online of a sign bearing their initials L&H with pink hearts burning on a bonfire and wrote: ‘Bye bye marriage.’
Now, the actress, 44, is in mourning.
Lorne’s family has announced that he died ‘unexpectedly’ earlier this month at the age of 60. They describe him as ‘legendary’.
At the time a dealer in Tibetan antiques, he married Weeks in an impromptu Buddhist wedding ceremony in 2005 while on holiday in the Himalayas.
They had a more traditional wedding in Barlavington, West Sussex, in 2007 and their son, Wade, was born four years later.
By 2015, however, their London neighbours complained about their flaming rows – which saw them screaming in the street – were reminiscent of ‘an Eastenders special’.
The pair finally split up in 2019.
His funeral will be held next week.
It comes after Honeysuckle claimed Billie Piper’s ex-husband Laurence Fox was ‘wooing other women’ during their marriage.

Actress Billie, 41, was reportedly left ‘humiliated and betrayed’ when she discovered Laurence’s disloyalty after Honeysuckle revealed Laurence had ‘asked her out’ multiple times while the former couple were still together.
Honeysuckle made the revelation to The Telegraph in an interview last month, leaving Billie ‘enraged.’
A source told The Sun: ‘Billie was obviously stunned to read the interview – and discover her husband, with whom she was very much together at the time, was wooing other women.
‘She feels humiliated and betrayed. God knows who else he tried to date when they were together.’
They added: ‘Safe to say, she is extremely happy she and Laurence aren’t together today.’
