Carol Alt made her modeling debut in 1979 at the age of 19, and now at 62, she’s set to make her X-rated debut on OnlyFans.

OnlyFans is a subscription-based site that allows content creators to be paid for their work. Many of their creators tend to post pornographic content, but there are also fitness instructors and musicians.

The Sports Illustrated swimsuit model is taking her independence by joining the site. Over her career, Carol has never owned any of the photos taken of her.

Joining OnlyFans gives her the power to decide what gets put out into the internet and what doesn’t. She’s hired her own professional photographer to take the pictures.

She told Page Six: “Forty-four years of working, I don’t own one of my photos. When people say ‘Do you have a photo I can use?’ I have to go ask someone.”

“I can choose a photo or not, say I want it or not, they are mine,” she continued, “I can shoot how I want to shoot. It’s the wave of the future… When people say it isn’t my image, I don’t want to be defined by someone else image [of me]. I want to define my own image.”

As for what the images will contain, they all won’t have Carol bearing all, but she did mention there would be “sexy, beautiful” nude photos. “There are some nude photos, but tastefully done,” she said.

“There is a difference between pictures that are tacky and pictures that are tasteful. I don’t know a model out there who hasn’t done a nude,” the Vogue cover star continued.

She also hopes the page might get her some more modeling gigs. “I would like people to know what I look like today… Age doesn’t define me. Women are beautiful at every age. I want people to feel empowered. It’s all good stuff,” she said.

Besides modeling, Carol owns a natural skincare and beauty line named Raw Essentials. She’s also not the only celebrity to try her hand at an OnlyFans account.

Rapper Iggy Azalea said she made about $4 million (£3.1 million) in the first few weeks of joining the site. Before giving it up, it was reported that Blac Chyna made over $20 million (£15.8 million) a month on the site.
