The actor, 48, looked well rested after receiving the Cultural Icon and Creator Tribute at the Gotham awards Monday night with his Maestro co-star Carey Mulligan.

Bradley wrote the script, starred in and directed the biopic for Maestro, about legendary composer Leonard Bernstein.
‘We’re just so excited that Lenny and his music and his life can be honored tonight,’ the multi-talented star told Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet.
‘And that we could all be up there with the children, talking about his legacy.’
‘I think it’s also so special to be in New York, because the soul of this whole story is in New York,’ co-star Cary Mulligan, who plays Bernstein’s wife Felicia Montealegre, told the outlet.

‘So for us to have it here and be here with [Bernstein’s] kids is so lovely.’
In an interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the star admitted the late composer was not well known by the public at large, but ‘his music is nuclear.’

‘I thought if I could make a movie where it could be scored to his music, there is a possibility for something transcendent,’ he told the host.
The actor, who was declared People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2011, revealed he interviewed people who actually knew the West Side Story composer as he conducted research for the script.
