Nigerian Senators have accused Senate President, Godswill Akpabio of passing bill without properly informing everyone in the Senate.
In a video from yesterday’s sitting, Senator Ali Ndume of Borno (APC) said that the Senate President passes bills without contributions from Senators.
‘You are just passing bills without prior notification , even money bills, you just pass without anyone’s contribution and within 2 hours. This is not good for Nigeria and history will judge you’, he said.
This is coming weeks after rumours of impeachment process against Akpabio was denied by the Senate.
Similarly, Senator Ogoshi Onawo from Nasarawa state decried the hasty passage of sensitive bills.
The Peoples Democratic Party senator said: ‘Sir, you are on the seat today; history is going to judge you that things like this are not good for this country.’
Akpabio, in his response, said: ‘If the bills we are passing are good for the country, history will judge me right. I don’t think we would come here to pass a bill that’s not good for the interest of Nigerians. So, your point of order is noted.’
