Royal sisters Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia might be living in different countries, but they proved their bond to be as close as ever at their latest family outing.
Infanta Sofia, 16, has reunited with her family to take part in their annual visit to the principality of Asturias in northwest Spain. The teenager is currently on an October break from her studies at UWC Atlantic College in Wales, where she enrolled in August.
Meanwhile, Princess Leonor, who turns 18 on 31 October, is currently undergoing military training in Zaragoza.
The princesses and their parents, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, paid a visit to the parishes of Arroes, Pion, and Candanal, which have been honoured as the 2023 Best Asturian Villages.
Princess Leonor matched her sister in a pair of white trousers, trainers, and similar raincoats. The future queen teamed her ensemble with a denim shirt, while Sofia opted for a teal sweatshirt.
At one point, Sofia was pictured with her arm around her big sister.
The family-of-four visited a market and sampled produce during their day of engagements over the weekend.
It came the day after the Spanish royals attended the annual Princess of Asturias awards.
Queen Letizia wowed in a black fitted dress by Carolina Herrera for the glamorous event, while Infanta Sofia donned a monochrome dress with cut-out detailing.
Princess Leonor looked elegant in a navy pleated number while King Felipe wore a dark suit with a red tie.
They were also joined at the awards by Felipe’s mother, Queen Sofia.
Princess Leonor is among a long list of royal female heirs throughout the European monarchies.
