Prince Harry's Visit To Windsor To Mark The Anniversary Of Queen's Death

Prince Harry paid tribute to his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II on the first anniversary of her death.

The Duke of Sussex traveled to the UK from California as a stop on his way to the 2023 Invictus Games in Germany, visiting St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on Friday.

A royal source tells Page Six that Harry, who was dressed in a button-down shirt and slacks, was joined by his cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Meghan Markle, whom Harry married at St. George’s Chapel in May 2018, did not join her husband for the private visit to where the late monarch was laid to rest.

The redheaded royal, 38, previously honored the Queen in an emotional speech at the WellChild Awards.

“As you know, I was unable to attend the awards last year, as my grandmother passed away,” he began Thursday. “As you also probably know, she would have been the first person to insist that I still come to be with you all instead of going to her. “And that’s precisely why I know, exactly one year on, that she is looking down on all of us tonight, happy we’re together, continuing to spotlight such an incredible community.”

Harry and Markle, 42, were scheduled to attend the awards last year when they received news that doctors were “concerned” about the Queen’s health.

They canceled their appearance so the prince could rush to Scotland to be by his grandma’s side at her beloved Balmoral Castle with his family.

Meghan Markle attended the Queen’s funeral with her husband after deciding not to travel with him when she died. The Queen died on Sept. 8, 2022, following a historic 70-year reign. She was 96. Markle did not travel with her husband at the time, but she did attend the funeral on Sept. 19, 2022, at London’s Westminster Abbey.
